Church OnLine

Although we have begun to offer an on-campus service, we realize that some folks want and need to worship from home.  So, during this time of distancing we encourage you to head over to our YouTube page to see a live stream of the sermon each Sunday. The live stream will begin once the song service ends. So be on the lookout to join us live sometime between 10:20 and 10:30 a.m. each Sunday, on YouTube.

Be certain to subscribe to our YouTube page. To subscribe just look for the red "subscribe" box under any of our videos or on our YouTube page. When you click "subscribe" a "bell" icon will appear. Click that "bell" icon and select "all" and you will receive notifications whenever we go live or upload a video.

If you miss a live stream don't worry we will archive each sermon on our YouTube page so you can view it at your convenience.  Just click on the "uploads” tab on our YouTube page to see our sermon archive.

Drive Thru communion

We will be offering a time each weekend for you to stop by the church building to pick up communion and drop off your offering.  Our leadership will man the Welcome Center each Sunday from 10am till 11:30am.  Just drive up to the welcome center doors, stay in your car and we will serve you.  We will ask how many communion cups you would like and return with factory sealed communion kits as well as the weekly bulletin for you and your family.  We will also be able to collect your weekly offering and pray for you if you would like.

On-Campus Service Option Begins June 21st

Beginning Sunday, June 21st West Park will begin offering an on-campus service as an option for folks to worship in a corporate setting.  With that said we will continue to operate as we have since the shelter in place order was given months ago.  This means we will still be offering drive up Communion on Sundays from 10am to 11:30am.  We will still be posting the weekly devotions to our website.  And we will attempt a live stream of the sermon on YouTube each Sunday afternoon sometime between 10:20-10:30am (following the song service).  We want to encourage folks to participate as they see fit.  For some that means participating from home.  Others may want to try the on-campus option.  No matter how you choose to worship, we want you to worship in a way that you feel safe and comfortable.  We will continue to offer the at home and the on-campus option as long as need be as a ministry to our families.

With that said, lets look at,

The On-Campus Service Option And What To Expect:

  • In accordance with the Governors orders and the recommendations of the Virginia Department of Health, West Park will be following the recommended social distancing guidelines.
  • Our Family Life Center will be set up so that folks will be able to sit at a minimum of 6 feet apart.  Families who have traveled together are permitted and are recommended to sit together to provide ample space for everyone.
  • Face masks are required to enter our building and should remain on during the service, with the exception that they be removed when partaking in communion.  Those in need of a mask will be given one.
  • Communion and offering will be offered during each service.  Plates will not be passed.  The servers will be the only ones handling the plates.  The servers will walk around and allow for the offering to be placed in the plate, as well as communion to be taken from the plate.
  • Communion will consist of factory sealed “Communion Kits.”  They will be placed into cleaned/disinfected plates by an individual wearing the proper PPE.  The servers will walk down the rows, hold and present the plates and allow participants to retrieve their communion kit in a contactless manner.
  • Access to the building will be limited to the main floor of the Family Life Center and the restrooms attached to the ground floor of the Family Life Center.  The kitchen, loft, welcome center and all other areas will be inaccessible to the congregation in an attempt to keep everything clean and disinfected.
  • Entry to the Family Life Center can be accessed through the glass doors located under the loft (a.k.a. the overhang).  The doors will be propped open to limit contact until service begins and will be reopened once the service concludes.
  • There will be bathroom attendants that will clean and wipe down the bathrooms following their use during the services.
  • The Family Life Center and the ground floor bathrooms attached to the Family Life Center will be cleaned and disinfected prior to and following each service.
  • The Family life center will open at 9:30am and services will begin at 10am
  • We ask everyone would abstain from contacting, touching, hugging etc.  If you have a “coughing spell” during the service, we ask that you step outside the building until the spell subsides.
  • If you are feeling under the weather, ill or are running a fever we advise you to stay home.
  • Until notice is given, we will not be offering Nursery, Junior Church, Children’s Group, Youth Group, Open Gym, Mid-Week Service, Wednesday Night Dinner, Bible Study or Sunday School classes.
  • We ask that everyone abide by these guidelines out of respect for others as we attempt to be responsible in providing an on-campus service option for our church body.
