In response to the recent changes that we have all had to make in the wake of the COVID-19 Virus outbreak, we here at West Park have been taking steps to make the health and wellness of our Church Family a top priority. We know that many of us are going to be spending a good deal of time at home, and we want to continue to meet needs, stay close together and serve our community. So, here is what you need to know about how we intend to do that!

1. Join us on campus each Sunday morning. Doors open at 9:30 (MORE INFO BELOW)

2. Join us at home by watching the livestream (MORE INFO BELOW)

3. Take advantage of Drive Thru Communion and Offering

                    Sunday - 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m

4. Download the daily devotions

                    Right here! (JUST LOOK BELOW)

5. Help our congregation and community by continuing your regular giving

6. Help to fill our Food Pantry

Your donations help us to continue helping those that need help. The Food

Pantry is  available for anyone who needs assistance and donations can be

dropped off during  Drive Thru Communion and Offering.

7. Sunday School classes have resumed and take place on campus from 9:00-9:45 am.

8. Children's Church meets in the Children's Wing during the 10 o'clock service.

Please note - Children's church is for Elementary aged children, Kindergarten

through 5th grade.  These children are to be capable of following verbal instruction

and are able to go to the bathroom by themselves.  This plan does not include

children that require assistance during bathroom use or that require diaper changing

as it would present too much of a risk at this time.  Also, we are not offering a nursery

                    at this time.

9. Youth Group meets on Wednesdays in the Youth Loft beginning at 7pm.

10. Check your email often. This is the quickest method for you to stay up-to-date on

          everything going on.

Church OnLine

Although we have begun to offer an on-campus service, we realize that some folks want and may need to worship from home.  So, during this time of distancing we encourage you to head over to our YouTube page to see a live stream of the service each Sunday. The live stream will begin at approximately 10am.

Be certain to subscribe to our YouTube page. To subscribe just look for the red "subscribe" box under any of our videos or on our YouTube page. When you click "subscribe" a "bell" icon will appear. Click that "bell" icon and select "all" and you will receive notifications whenever we go live or upload a video.

If you miss a live stream don't worry we will archive each sermon on our YouTube page so you can view it at your convenience.  Just click on the "uploads” tab on our YouTube page to see our sermon archive.

Drive Thru communion

We will be offering a time each weekend for you to stop by the church building to pick up communion and drop off your offering.  Volunteers will man the Welcome Center each  Sunday from 10 till 11:30 a.m.  Just drive up to the welcome center doors, stay in your car and we will serve you.  We will ask how many communion cups you would like and return with factory sealed communion kits as well as the weekly bulletin for you and your family.  We will also be able to collect your weekly offering and pray for you if you would like.

On-Campus Service Option

West Park now offers an on-campus service as an option for folks to worship in a corporate setting.  With that said we will continue to operate as we have since the shelter in place order was given months ago.  This means we will still be offering drive through Communion on Sundays from 10 to 11:30 a.m.  We will still be posting the weekly devotions to our website.  And, we will live stream the service on YouTube each Sunday morning.  We want to encourage folks to participate as they see fit.  For some that means participating from home.  Others may want to try the on-campus option.  No matter how you choose to worship, we want you to worship in a way that you feel safe and comfortable.  We will continue to offer the at home and the on-campus option as long as need be as a ministry to our families.

With that said, lets look at,

The On-Campus Service Option And What To Expect:

  • In accordance with the Governors orders and the recommendations of the Virginia Department of Health, West Park will be following the recommended social distancing guidelines.
  • Our Family Life Center will be set up so that folks will be able to sit at a minimum of 6 feet apart.  Families who have traveled together are permitted and are recommended to sit together to provide ample space for everyone.
  • Face masks are required to enter our building and should remain on during the service, with the exception that they be removed when partaking in communion.  Those in need of a mask will be given one.
  • Communion and offering will be offered during each service.  Plates will not be passed.  The servers will be the only ones handling the plates.  The servers will walk around and allow for the offering to be placed in the plate, as well as communion to be taken from the plate.
  • Communion will consist of factory sealed “Communion Kits.”
  • Access to the building will be limited to the main floor of the Family Life Center and the restrooms attached to the ground floor of the Family Life Center.
  • Entry to the Family Life Center can be accessed through the glass doors located under the loft (a.k.a. the overhang).
  • The Family Life Center and the ground floor bathrooms attached to the Family Life Center will be cleaned and disinfected prior to each service.
  • The Family life center will open at 9:30am and services will begin at 10am
  • We ask everyone would abstain from contacting, touching, hugging etc.  If you have a “coughing spell” during the service, we ask that you step outside the building until the spell subsides.
  • If you are feeling under the weather, ill or are running a fever stay home and stream the service.
  • Until notice is given, we will not be offering Open Gym, Mid-Week Service, Wednesday Night Dinner, or Bible Study on campus.
  • We ask that everyone abide by these guidelines out of respect for others as we attempt to be responsible in providing an on-campus service option for our church body.

On-Campus Sunday School Option

West Park has also began to offer Sunday School classes on our church campus. Classes will begin at 9 and conclude at 9:45, with the worship service to follow at 10 am.  Please note that we will continue to follow the social distancing guidelines set forth by the CDC and the Virginia Department of Health for all Sunday School classes and the worship service.
